Sports Hall of Fame

The Sports Hall of Fame honors former outstanding varsity athletes of the college who competed in intercollegiate athletics, as well as persons who have made outstanding contributions to Canisius athletics in a non-playing capacity. The 2017 Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, in Montante Cultural Center. To view photos from last year's event, click here.

The Canisius College Alumni Association and Department of Athletics invite you to celebrate the 2017 Sports Hall of Fame Inductees at the induction brunch. $35 per person ($15 for children 10 years and under) includes a buffet brunch, beverages and a game ticket. After brunch, cheer on our Griffs at the Canisius vs. Quinnipiac Men's Basketball game in the Koessler Athletic Center (2:00 PM tip off). Inductees will be recognized during the half-time ceremony.

Up to eight awards may be presented per year. The awards are presented each Spring during half-time of a men’s basketball game.The newly established Rev. Paul J. Dugan, S.J. Award will be permanently displayed in the Canisius Sports Hall of Fame. The award recognizes individuals who have had a significant impact on Canisius College Athletics over an extended period of time, but who do not qualify for induction into the Sports Hall of Fame as an athlete or non-athlete.
