Programs

The annual Soup With Substance Series (SWS), open to the campus and the Western New York community, presents culturally-based programs to familiarize audiences with topics germane to ALANA cultures. This may include, but not limited to, motivational speakers, open discussion on current topics affecting people of color locally and/or nationally, and cultural entertainment. Four different cultural SWS programs are presented in align with ALANA and students are encouraged to assist in the implementation of these engaging events.

Minority Scholarship Search is an annual scholarship search that is facilitated by the ALANA Student Center (ASC) in an effort to assist students in the search for scholarship opportunities that are geared toward ALANA populations. During the search, students are also able to gain a better insight into some financial aid fundamentals.

Cultural Excursions- are culturally based co-curricular trips in which students are able to experience various aspects of a given culture through artistic expressions or historical context. The excursions change from year-to-year and are sponsored by the ASC at no additional cost to students.
