Canisius Makes Graduation Guarantee

April 30, 2024

Canisius University President Steve K. Stoute announced the Golden Griffin Guarantee, a promise that students will complete a bachelor’s degree in four years (eight semesters), or tuition for up to an additional 15 credit hours is free.

Students enrolling in the fall 2024 semester are eligible. Students must maintain full-time, consecutive enrollment during all four years, sustain good academic standing and progress successfully toward their degrees.

“Golden Griffin Guarantee reinforces our commitment to our students that they graduate in four years,” said President Stoute. “As a Jesuit university, our support structure is highly individualized and central to our mission of cura personalis – care for the whole person. Beginning with orientation and continuing through graduation, students receive the support necessary to successfully complete their academic, personal and spiritual journeys at Canisius.”

The Griff Center for Student Success provides each student with an individual care team, including an advisor with specialization in their major as well as the opportunity to work with a team of additional advisors who assist with “signature” learning experiences. Success coaches assist students with academic concerns and connect them with campus resources.

Golden Griffin Guarantee offers several advantages including a “guaranteed” way to reduce the cost of an undergraduate degree and allows students to launch their careers and begin earning income as soon as possible.

“We want to reassure first-year students and their families that we support their investment in a Canisius education,” added President Stoute.
