BIO365: Vertebrate Zoology and Ecology
(generally offered during the fall semester of odd years)

This class introduces students to all of the vertebrates - fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.  The first two-thirds of the class focuses on vertebrate diversity and provides information about the evolution, diversity of forms, reproductive biology, sensory world, and locomotion of each group of vertebrates.  The last third of the semester is devoted to topics that relate to all vertebrate groups including endothermy and ectothermy, migration and other movements, and conservation.  Labs include diversity work at the Buffalo Museum of Science and field trips.

This class can be used to fulfill requirements for the Biology Major (Track 1), the Environmental Science Major, and/or the Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation Major at Canisius.
