Buffalo, NY - Canisius University will host the Data Masters Challenge, an intercollegiate data analytics Olympiad, April 24–26. The virtual competition will bring together student teams from a range of colleges and universities  to tackle a real-world sports dataset inspired by the Olympic Games.

Designed to replicate the fast-paced, collaborative nature of today’s data-driven workplaces, the Data Masters Challenge invites students from programs such as data analysis, business analytics, computer science, cybersecurity and sport management to apply their skills in a competitive, team-based environment. Participants will analyze complex datasets, build machine learning models and present their findings through professional-quality data visualization dashboards.

Teams will be evaluated by senior professionals from leading analytics companies. The top three teams will receive awards and Certificates of Excellence, while all participants will earn Certificates of Participation to enhance their resumes and professional profiles.

The event provides students with hands-on experience using tools such as Python and R and prepares them for practical work in data analysis, modeling and visualization.
