Digital Media Arts - Extended Learning Opportunities

Canisius Earning Excellence Program

DMA majors can get involved in faculty-student research projects through the Canisius Earning Excellence Program (CEEP). If selected for the program, you’ll work closely with a faculty member over the course of a year. In addition to potential opportunities to co-present at a conference, you’ll present project results at Ignatian Scholarship Day.

Digital Media Arts (DMA) students can also become involved in a variety of clubs on campus:

Anime Club

Anime Club is the place for otakus to view Japanese animation, eat Japanese candy, go to anime conventions and enjoy a variety of activities coordinated by an active and attentive e-board, all while socializing with other otakus.

Buffalo Game Space

The DMA program is active in Buffalo Game Space, a non-profit organization that supports a thriving gaming industry in Buffalo. This local community of game developers and designers meet regularly for workshops, talks and presentations, and of course, to play games. For more information, visit the Buffalo Game Space website.

Canisius Esports

One of our newest student clubs, Esports is dedicated to organized collegiate competitive gaming. Competitive teams play Fortnite, Overwatch, Warcraft, FIFA and League of Legends in our state-of-the-art Esports Lab. Students also play against teams all across the country in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Canisius Movie Makers

The Canisius Movie Makers club is dedicated to the appreciation of motion picture films through personal projects, speakers, presentations, viewings and collective studies.

Digital Media Arts and Advertising Club

The Digital Media Arts and Advertising Club meets every week for fun activities, tutorials and trips. Students showcase their skills, talk about interesting projects, and learn from tutorials. They also enjoy trips to conferences, events and museums.

Fusion Gaming Society

The Canisius University Fusion Gaming Society seeks to unite members of the college community through the mutual enjoyment of multiplayer gaming experiences. Students can choose from a vast collection of board, video and card games. The club is open to all Canisius students.

The Griffin

The student-run Griffin newspaper has served the campus community since 1933. Membership is open to any Canisius student.

Griffin TV

Griffin TV (GTV) is the public service television network for Canisius. Located at Channel 4.1 on campus, the student-run network delivers sports, news, morning and late-night programming, as well as live events throughout the year. Membership is open to any Canisius student.

The Quadrangle

The Quadrangle is an annual literary-arts magazine published by students. The magazine promotes the literary and artistic talents of the entire Canisius community—students, faculty and alumni.

The Wire

The Wire is the student-run radio station of Canisius University. Students host their own radio shows on a weekly basis. Members of the club also provide music for events on campus.
