Canisius University offers a special tuition scholarship for Canadian graduate students. This scholarship helps reduce costs and makes graduate education more accessible.
Scholarship Criteria
- Applicants must be incoming new graduate students entering Canisius University in the spring of 2026 or after.
- Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
- Applicants must be admitted to a graduate program at Canisius University.
Scholarship Conditions
- The Canadian Graduate Student Tuition Scholarship provides a 25% tuition discount.
- The scholarship applies to tuition only and does not cover fees, housing, meal plans, books, health insurance, or other non-tuition expenses.
- The scholarship is available to both full-time and part-time graduate students.
- The scholarship is not retroactive and cannot be applied to any semester prior to Spring 2026.
- The scholarship is valid for the duration of the student’s graduate degree, subject to continued eligibility.
- To remain eligible, recipients must maintain good academic standing and a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0.
- The scholarship is non-transferable and has no cash value.
- If a student receives a second Canisius scholarship offer of greater or equal value (upgraded offer), the subsequent offer replaces the initial offer. If a recipient receives multiple scholarship offers, the highest-value scholarship will be assigned.
- The combination of all scholarships (internal and external) may not exceed the student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) at Canisius University.
Application Process
- Applicants must apply for admission to a graduate program at Canisius University.
- No separate scholarship application is required.
- Scholarship consideration is automatic and based on academic merit at the time of admission review.
Renewal Process
- Renewal of the scholarship is contingent upon:
- Continued enrollment in an eligible graduate program
- Maintain good academic standing
- Students must meet all renewal criteria to retain the scholarship for subsequent semesters.
