The Dean of Students Office at Canisius University provides comprehensive oversight of the Student Life functional offices, ensuring a holistic approach to student success and well-being. Through Student Advocacy and Support, the office assists students with personal, academic, and social challenges while promoting equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Crisis Response and Resources address emergencies, student conduct, and overall well-being, including the work of BIT teams focused on mental health, behavioral concerns, and advocacy. To foster a sense of belonging, the office leads Campus Community Building initiatives, such as leadership development, student organizations, and events that create an inclusive and engaged campus environment. The office also plays a critical role in Community Standards Appeals and the, upholding student accountability and providing resources to address challenges effectively. Residential Experience

The Residential Experience at Canisius University encompasses a comprehensive approach to fostering student development and community engagement within campus housing. Through Residential Education and a Curricular Approach, students benefit from intentional programming designed to enhance personal growth and academic success. The Residence Hall Association empowers students to take an active role in shaping their community through leadership and advocacy, while the Resident Assistant Program provides peer support and fosters inclusive, supportive environments. To maintain a respectful and safe living space, the Residential Community Standards and University Rights and Responsibilities establish clear expectations for behavior and accountability. Additionally, Living Learning Communities integrate academic and personal interests, creating opportunities for students to engage deeply with their studies while building meaningful connections with peers. Together, these functional areas create a holistic and enriching residential experience that supports student success

Housing Operations

Housing Operations at Canisius University ensures the seamless management and support of on-campus residential experiences through a range of essential services. Residential Agreements and Occupancy Management oversee student housing contracts and maintain efficient use of residence hall spaces. Health and Safety and Facility Conditions ensure a safe and well-maintained living environment, prioritizing the well-being of residents. The department also facilitates Non-Academic Year Housing, accommodating students during fall, winter, spring, and summer sessions. Additionally, Summer Conference housing supports external groups and events, optimizing the use of campus facilities. With a commitment to Customer Service, the team provides responsive and student-centered support, ensuring a positive and welcoming residential experience for all. Together, these operations uphold the university's standards of excellence in housing and community living.
