Each program has its own requirements and process for application and being retained in the program. Some require standardized exams, some do not. SUNY Upstate Medical University (4+4)
Students apply during sophomore year at Canisius
- 3.50 GPA (overall and pre-med requirements)
- 1310 SATs or 28 ACT
- Maintain 3.50 after acceptance
- Medical experience
- Volunteer experience
- No specific number of seats reserved for Canisius students
- To continue in program: Maintain 3.50 GPA each semester, earn a 509 (80th %ile) on the MCAT
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (3+4 or 4+4)
- Students may apply jointly to LECOM and Canisius from high school or freshman or sophomore year
- A 3+3 or 4+3 Primary Care Pathway is also available to students who know they want to enter a primary care area of medicine
- Students in this program do not take the MCAT exam
To apply from high school:
- 3.5 high school GPA (unweighted)
- 1170 SAT or 26 ACT; 1240 or higher on the SAT taken after March of 2016; 1340 or higher on the new SAT for those in the Medical “3+4” track

Students apply either while in High School or during Freshman or Sophomore year
To apply from high school:
- 93% High School Average
- Upper 10% of high school class
- 1300 SAT with math score ≥ 670 (or 30 ACT)
- Understanding of optometry
- Community involvement and communication and interpersonal skills
To apply during freshman or sophomore year:
- 3.3 GPA in science/math prerequisites and overall
- No grade lower than ‘C’
To be maintained in program:
- 3.3 GPA in science/math prerequisites (no grade below ‘C’) and overall
- 3.3 GPA in sciences and overall cumulative
- OAT 330 total and individual scores
No limit to the number of Canisius students accepted into the program
University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy (3+4)
- Students work with the Pre-Med Center starting freshman year to stay on track for this program
- 3.5 GPA in prerequisites and overall
- Earn 400 on PCAT (3 on written essay)
- Recommendation from Canisius
- Thorough understanding of the pharmacy profession
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Students are guided throughout their time at Canisius to participate in this program.
- There is no official application process to UB for students to be part of this program.
A minimum of 2 seats are reserved for Canisius students
Ontario Veterinary College University of Guelph (4+4)
- Students work with the Pre-Med Center starting freshman year to stay on track for this program
- Must have completed all prerequisites during regular semesters to apply
- Carry full academic load each semester
- > 3.2 GPA
- Experience working with a vet (paid or unpaid)
- Animal Experience
- Students are guided throughout their time at Canisius to participate in this program.
- There is no official application process to OVC for students to be part of this program.
