BUFFALO, NY – BestColleges.com recently recognized Canisius University for having the number three (No. 3) online master’s program in sports management, in the nation.  Housed in the School of Education and Human Services, the online master’s program in sports management was recognized for “emphasizing the importance of law, ethics and professional conduct in the athletic industry.” BestColleges.com also recognized the ease at which students can “specialize their degrees in areas of sports marketing, athletic training and sports leadership” and “the hands-on training” students receive through internships and/or practicum coursework.  The Canisius University online master’s program in sports management ranked third, after the University of Florida (No. 1) and Texas A&M University-College Station (#2).  Students graduate prepared for a long roster of careers including intercollegiate athletics, amateur or professional sports, sports marketing, and event and facility management.

“The online master’s program in sport administration at Canisius offers a flexible, hands-on curriculum that emphasizes emerging sports industry trends, communication skills and cutting-edge technologies used in sport administration,” says Jeffrey R. Lindauer, PhD, dean of the School of Education & Human Services.  “This latest ranking is the result of much hard work by our faculty and serves as an exclamation point to the quality of the sport administration program - and a Canisius education.”
