Moving Carts
- Moving carts are available in the Lower Level of Dugan Hall and the Delavan Townhouse Community Building
- Carts must be checked out with a staff member before use.
- A Canisius is required for checkout.
- Only one cart can be issued to each student at a time.
- Carts should be returned as soon as you are finished using them.
- Carts must be returned to a staff member in a designated area.
- Carts can only be issued and returned during posted business hours.
- If your cart is not returned by the close of business, keep it until the following day.
- Unreturned carts will be assessed an $138 replacement fee.
Instructions For Selecting a Move-In Time
Do you need to move into your academic year space early?
- If you're a returning student and need to move in before Saturday, August 22, please complete the Early Arrival Form. Early arrivals
- If you're a returning student planning to arrive after Sunday, August 23? You will need to complete the early or late arrival application.
Early Arrival Rates
Students arriving early for non-university-sponsored reasons may incur an additional early arrival charge of $35 per night. All charges will be posted to the student’s account.
Late Move-in Information
New and returning students must typically move in by the first day of class. If you are not moving in by that day, please contact us so we can keep your room reserved for you.
Complete Move In by the First Day of Class
If you are moving in after 5 p.m. on the first day of classes, you must complete this form to notify Student Life of your late arrival.
What Happens if You Do Not Move in or Complete a Late Arrival Request Form? If you are attending Canisius and do not move in by the move-in date or notify us of a delay:
- You will be responsible for all room charges
- You will forfeit all associated room fees and deposits
- You may be subject to room reassignment
Assignment Changes
- At Canisius University, we will work with you to try to accommodate housing assignment change requests. However, changes may take time and cannot always be granted due to room availability, occupancy needs, and other housing considerations.
