ID Cards

Please carefully review the following requirements prior to taking/submitting your photo - the photo must be approved at least 24 hours before you collect your ID at Student Life. 

• This photograph is for identification purposes. It must clearly identify you as a person and may not contain any other individual(s) or objects.
• The photograph must be current (taken within the past three months).
• The photograph must be in color.
• The photograph must be a centered, frontal view of your full face and shoulders. You must be facing directly at the camera, and your eyes must be open.
• You must not be wearing a hat, sunglasses/glasses with dark lenses, headphones, or face-paint.
• The view of your face must not be obstructed or shadowed.
• There must be a small space between the top of your head and the top of the image.
• The background must be white/off white.
• The background must be a solid, non-textured surface. Photographs with outdoor/scenic backgrounds will not be accepted.
• There must be a definite contrast between yourself and the background.
• The photograph must not be of a printed picture (e.g. senior portrait).
• Before submitting your photo, ask yourself if it is appropriate for a passport or driver’s license. If the answer is "no", then it is not appropriate for your Canisius University ID.

You will receive a status email after your photo has been reviewed.

Photo submissions are manually evaluated. The ID Card office reserves the right to refuse any photos that do not meet the above requirements. Please be aware that your photo may be modified (e.g. additional cropping).
