The Canisius College Board of Regents honored Candace S. Johnson, PhD, president and CEO of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, as the 2018 Distinguished Citizen at the Regents Scholarship Ball on May 5, 2018.

Nearly 500 friends of the college attended the event at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo to help raise support for Canisius students. Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends, this year’s event raised $144,000.

The Regents Ball provides an opportunity to honor individuals, such as Dr. Johnson, who have made outstanding contributions to Western New York while also raising vital funds for the Board of Regents Endowed Scholarship Fund. The fund affords deserving students the opportunity to stay the course to personal and professional success.

This year’s event included live entertainment by Nik and The Nice Guys, prize giveaways, and a live auction hosted by Channel 2’s Kevin O’Connell. Mark your calendars for the 2019 Regents Scholarship Ball, which takes place on Saturday, May 4, 2019!
