ArtsCanisius fills the calendar with concerts, exhibits and other arts events for the college community and the public. Students and faculty members are featured in our galleries and performance venues, along with artists from across the region. The celebrated Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra performs at least one concert on campus every year, as well as recitals with Canisius faculty. Canisius Music Scholars assist with planning and promoting all the events. Check below for our events by category, or view the full list. We look forward to seeing you!
The tradition of the Canisius connection with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra continues with the annual BPO performance in the Montante Cultural Center. Individual concert tickets for this series are $15 general admission, $7 students.
Performance opportunities abound for Canisius students. This series features the Canisius College chorale, orchestra, band and jazz ensembles in concert as well as solo performances by Canisius students.
Art History Events
Every semester, the art program brings in distinguished scholars to present their works to our community. We are also fortunate to be able to draw upon the expertise of our own faculty members as part of the Fine Arts Meet-the-Faculty series. This can include lectures, lunches and discussions and much more.
These events bring renowned guest artists to the college campus.
This series features members of the Canisius Fine Arts Department faculty in recitals, lectures and art exhibits.
Studio Art Events
The studio art shows bring professional artists and their works to the Bouwhuis Library Peter A. and Mary Lou Vogt Gallery. On-going shows of student artwork are on display throughout the academic year in the Peter A. and Mary Lou Vogt Gallery on the fourth floor of Lyons Hall and in the Alumni Gallery between Old Main and Tim Horton’s Café.
