President Stoute, Canisius Alumni among Buffalo's "Power 100 Business Leaders of Color"

Buffalo, NY - Canisius President Steve Stoute along with eight alumni of the university are among those named on Business First's annual "Power 100 Business Leaders of Color."  The annual ranking recognizes leaders from Western New York companies and organizations who have risen to the top of their fields and are making a significant impact on the community and having influence in the region.  The "Power 100 Business Leaders of Color" ranking also honors those who promote creativity and inclusion, serve as role models, and advocate for diverse perspectives. This is the fifth consecutive year President Stoute has earned a place on the list.  

The Canisius alumni named to Business First's "Power 100 Business Leaders of Color" are: 

  • Shannon D. Bryant MS '13, chief diversity inclusion officer for Kaledia Health; 
  • Chantele M. Campbell '05, chief community impact officer at BestSelf Behavioral Health;
  • Marie A. Cannon '87, president and chief executive officer of the Community Action Organization of Western New York;
  • Hon. Lenora B. Foote-Beavers '92, a retired City Court judge and chief health equity officer at Evergreen Health;
  • Joseph M. Hanna MS '19, partner at Goldberg Segalla LLP where he is chair of the firm's Diversity Task Force; 
  • Nadine L. Marrero '99, assistant executive director for the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority;
  • Stephanie R. Peete '08, supervisor of the Internship and Career Pathways Program at Say Yes; and 
  • Chandra L. Redfern '99, chief executive officer for Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers.

Business First considers several factors in selecting its "Power 100 Business Leaders of Color," including the size of the leader's workforce, the organization's revenue, the length of time the leader has held the position and their community impact.
