Research, Innovation, and Scholarship
The IMPACT Center at Canisius University serves as a collaborative hub to promote and support research and scholarship, across all disciplines. Led by a group of faculty and staff with wide-ranging expertise, the Center provides resources for activities such as grant writing, study design and analysis, project coordination, data management, and intellectual property support. In addition, the Center tracks and showcases faculty achievements and facilitates public dissemination of scholarly work.
By fostering a research-centered environment, the IMPACT Center empowers faculty and students to contribute to the academic and societal advancement of Canisius University.

Celebration of Faculty Scholarship
The Celebration of Faculty Scholarship is a campus-wide event showcasing the diverse research, creative works, and scholarly achievements of Canisius faculty through engaging presentations and interactive displays.
Canisius Institutional Expertise Commons (CIEC) (Coming soon)
The Canisius Institutional Expertise Commons (CIEC) will be a centralized, publicly accessible database showcasing the collective expertise of Canisius faculty and staff. Users will be able to explore areas of expertise, research interests, publications, projects, and other scholarly and professional activities to identify potential collaborators, develop grants and partnerships, and connect with Canisius experts. CIEC will also help students discover faculty research aligned with their interests and identify opportunities to become involved in research and scholarly projects.
New Faculty Grantsmanship Onboarding Pilot
Launching in 2026, the New Faculty Grantsmanship Onboarding Pilot is a year-long program designed to introduce faculty to the grant development process and build the skills and confidence needed to pursue external funding. Participants are paired with experienced faculty mentors and guided through step-by-step grantsmanship training throughout the academic year. Participants will receive a stipend to participate in the program. By the end of the program, each participant will have developed their own federal grant proposal.
