Teaching English at Kensington High School, a Buffalo Public School, began the career that Kathleen Kreis has loved ever since. She served later as Supervisor of Language Arts, then Director of English, then Director of English and Library Services in Buffalo Public Schools. During that time she completed her Ed. D., writing her dissertation on teacher job satisfaction/teacher burnout. She conducted hundreds of workshops and presentations on topics such as the teaching of writing, teacher burnout, and communication skills.

Teaching as an adjunct at SUNY/Buffalo, Genesee Community College, and Canisius University has brought Dr. Kreis connections with wonderful students and great joy. At Canisius, Dr. Kreis has had fine opportunities to work with students in adolescent literacy, methods of teaching English, middle school cognition, learning, and assessment, and young adult literature courses. She also has enjoyed supervising student teachers.
