Buffalo, NY - Everything from AI stocks to real estate market trends and the Canisius Golden Griffin Fund (GGF) was discussed when Steve Gattuso joined the Dec. 12 episode of the "What Matters" podcast.

The assistant professor of economics and finance shared his insights on the role of AI in the investment world, the challenges facing today's housing market and the risks of passive investing.  He also offered expertise in how best to navigate the current interest rate dynamics in today's market.

Gattuso has more than 25 years of investment experience, including roles at Wilmington Trust and General Motors.  He is currently co-chief investment officer and senior portfolio manager at Courier Capital.  Gattuso is also executive director of the Golden Griffin Fund at Canisius.  The GGF is a real money student-run investment program that has consistently produced top-performing financial analysts.

Under Gattuso's leadership, the program has achieved remarkable success in the CFA Institute Research Challenge, winning its local competition for 14 consecutive years and securing the global championship in 2015 - against approximately 1,000 competing schools worldwide.

"These are analysts who are ready to hit the ground running in their career," Gattuso explained during the podcast, emphasizing how the program serves as a talent pipeline for the financial industry giving students hands-on experience in equity analysis and investment management.  "If I ever started a mutual fund company, I know exactly where I'd get my analysts."

The Golden Griffin Fund program is housed within the AACSB accredited Wehle Business School. The premier business school in Western New York develops career-ready business leaders prepared to make ethical business decisions that reflect the interests of multiple stakeholders.  With its partners in the business community, the Wehle Business School emphasizes immersive, experience-based learning, reflective of the interconnected and global nature of business.
