Dr. Khinkis is passionate about the power of creative thinking as we strive to better understand and positively impact the world around us. He feels that Mathematics and Statistics represent perfect content areas to develop these skills and eagerly shares his expertise with his students. Dr. Khinkis' research interests are in the field of Mathematical Statistics and, specifically, Nonlinear Regression Analysis, Optimal Design of Experiments, Data Science, and Financial Mathematics. His research has broad applications to biology, pharmaceutics, economics/business, and other fields. Dr. Khinkis served as Vice-President of the Buffalo-Niagara Chapter, American Statistical Association, 1993-1994, 2010- 2011 and President of the Buffalo-Niagara Chapter, American Statistical Association, 1994-1995; February 2011- present. He served as Chair of the local Organizing Committee for the UPSTAT 2016, Upstate New York Statistical Conference, and was co-Chair of the UPSTAT 2017. Dr. Khinkis' vast administrative experience includes his past work as Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Senior Administrative Fellow.
