Mary Owusu

Assistant Professor

Mary Owusu is Assistant Professor of Marketing & Information Systems and director of the Integrated Marketing Communications Center.

Professor Owusu began her career in 2002 as a search marketer and took on progressively increasing roles before becoming Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy and Analytics at a large marketing agency where she oversaw a digital team across 9 offices, working with brands such as Ford, GE and Mattel. 

In 2020--after eight years as an adjunct professor of digital marketing at Canisius--Professor Owusu left the corporate world and joined the Marketing department full-time. She architects and teaches many of the digital marketing courses including search engine optimization, paid search, social media marketing, digital strategy, and marketing analytics, to name a few.
