Griff Weekend Check-In Instructions for Attendees

Welcome to our third annual Griff Weekend, Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27. Here is everything you need to know to check in for the weekend and start celebrating!

PLEASE NOTE: Check-in at the Student Center is ONLY for alumni & friends who have registered with the alumni office. Students and families do not need to check-in or pick up a name tag.

📍 Where to Check In

There is one place to check-in to receive your name tag and Griff Weekend swag item!

Richard E. Winter '42 Student Center - 1st Floor
- Saturday, September 26 | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Unless you are celebrating a reunion year, please make your way to the Student Center during Griff Weekend to check-in during the hours listed above. For those celebrating reunions (Class of 1976 and 2001), you will receive an email about where you can check in for your specific event.

The Class of 1976 celebrating your 50th reunion dinner on Friday evening, please check-in directly at Chester HON '01 and Diane Stranczek Commons in Science Hall. Your name tag and swag items will be given to you there. The Class of 2001 will check in with Kristen at the library prior to your tour, OR directly at MIRA.

🧾 What to Bring

There is nothing specific you need to bring! If you registered through Eventbrite, we have your name, and you are all set! If you plan to attend Blue & Gold Bash in the evening, please bring your valid state ID. You will be asked to show ID at the door because liquor will be served at the event if guests are interested.

Casual attire is suggested! Please wear any Canisius swag items you may have, or blue and gold. Sneakers or walking shoes are highly recommended, especially if you plan to go on the Alumni Campus Tours. It is a walking tour only!

🎟️ What Happens at Check-In

We’ll confirm your registration and find your name tag!
Once you receive your name tag, please head over to pick up your socks for the weekend. All guests who have a blue "Canisius University" lanyard name tag will receive a pair of socks as their swag item. You have a choice between two different designs.
The "Griff Weekend Digital Guidebook" will be your best friend! It has everything you need to know about the weekend, including schedules, campus map, emergency contact numbers, and so much more! The guidebook can be found by clicking here.

Not registered yet? Don't worry! We take walk-ins. Please come prepared to pay for your ticket with a credit card or check. No cash will be accepted.
Questions or special needs? Just ask a staff member on site! We will be happy to help you.

Parking Suggestions

A campus map is below for our suggestions for parking across campus! Parking is available in the Lyons Hall lot, Spillman Lot, Lower KAC lots, and Science Hall lot. You can also park on the streets if it's available.

Register Your Vehicle with Canisius:

To help manage parking and vehicle traffic on campus during the weekend, we kindly ask that you register your vehicle with Canisius University using the link HERE. Please select Guest Login to create a guest account and complete your vehicle registration.

Registering your vehicle helps our Public Safety team maintain accurate records and allows them to contact you quickly if an incident or issue involving your vehicle occurs while you are on campus.
