MBA
The Canisius MBA Program is a 48 credit hour program that prepares students for careers in business. The program provides students an understanding of the functional areas of a business. Students are exposed to accounting, finance, economics, marketing, organizational leadership, operations, and information systems. Knowledge of these areas, prepares a student from a non-business background for a leadership position in a domestic or international organization or increases the skill set for undergraduate business majors. Undergraduate business students can secure a concentration in an area other than their undergraduate major, increasing their breadth of knowledge.
MBA in Professional Accounting (MBAPA)
The MBAPA Program is a 70 credit hour program that in addition to providing students an understanding of the functional areas of business, offers an area of specialty in accounting. Similar to a BS in Accounting, the MBAPA Program prepares students for careers in both public and private industry accounting. Students complete 33 credit hours in accounting and graduates from the MBAPA Program interested in CPA licensure will have completed the educational requirements to sit for the NYS CPA exam and receive CPA licensure. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), accounting jobs are expected to grow by 13 percent annually through 2022.
