The Canisius University Borders & Migrations Initiative will host a lecture by Andrea Alvarez, PhD, curator at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Grupp Fireside Lounge of the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center and is free and open to the public.
Alvarez will discuss Let Us Gather in a Flourishing Way, a major exhibition currently on view at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum through September 6, 2026. The exhibition features the work of 58 Latinx artists and explores themes of community, identity and migration across diverse artistic practices. A bilingual catalogue accompanies the exhibit.
