Canisius Names New Director of Alumni Engagement, Constituent Relations

BUFFALO, NY – Canisius University has appointed Lauren Orlowski its new director of alumni engagement and constituent relations. Orlowski began work at Canisius on July 17. 

Responsible for involving alumni in the life of the institution, Orlowski will work to support and execute meaningful and memorable engagement opportunities for alumni; expand current career development initiatives; and develop new mission-centric programs that align with Canisius’ new strategic plan.  

A dedicated communications and fundraising professional, Orlowski comes to Canisius with more than 10 years of experience working for a variety of companies including a national non-profit, a local non-profit, a national franchise and a Fortune 500 company. She most recently served as a volunteer engagement specialist with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s national office. In this role, she oversaw a variety of the organization’s national campaigns and initiatives to engage its 3,000-plus volunteers, while facilitating specific programming to steward some of the foundation’s key volunteers including young professionals and major donors.  

Previously, Orlowski worked for the Western New York chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, leading many fundraising programs to increase the organization’s footprint in the community, and to engage new volunteers and supporters.

Orlowski holds a BS in public relations and minor in leadership studies from the State University of New York at Fredonia, and is an actively involved alumna of the school.  She also actively volunteers in the community and supports various organizations, including the Independent Health Foundation and Kelly for Kids Foundation.
