Studio Art Extended Learning Opportunities

Travel

All Canisius students can take part in the Study Abroad Program offered by the college. The Travel Photography course offered by the Studio Art Program gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in another culture and express that experience artistically. Travel takes place during spring break and summer; past destinations have included areas in Italy such as Venice and Naples.

Buffalo Art

Buffalo is renowned for its art collections and architecture, and Canisius University is located near many of the city's galleries and famous buildings. The reigning jewel is the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, famous for its modern and contemporary works. Close by that gallery is the Burchfield Penney Art Center, which is dedicated to the art and artists of Western New York. Besides these two institutions, there are many smaller galleries throughout the city that show a variety of work by local, national, and international artists and film makers. There is easy access from the college to architectural and landscaping masterpieces by Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Henri Sullivan, Frederick Law Olmsted, and others.
