Canisius University Hosts Virtual Commissioning Ceremony

BUFFALO, NY – The Army Reserve Officers Training Corp (ROTC) program at Canisius University commissioned 12 cadets as second lieutenants during a virtual ceremony on Friday, June 5 at 10:30 a.m.

The guest speaker for the ceremony was Brigadier General John C. Andonie, Joint Staff, New York Army National Guard. President John Hurley also offered remarks and congratulations.

Three students commissioned attended Canisius University, eight attended the University at Buffalo and one attended Buffalo State College. The Canisius students commissioned are:

Jared Browne ’20, who will complete his Basic Officer Leader's Course (BOLC) in Fort Benning, GA;

Dylan Huston ’20 will attend Yale University for his Master’s of Divinity degree; and

Zachary Kier ’20 who is going to Fort Lee, VA for the Basic Officer Leader’s Course afterwhich he will serve in the North Carolina National Guard in High Point, NC.
