Buffalo, NY – In recognition of Black History Month, Canisius University will honor the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a presentation featuring nationally-renowned speaker Joshua Fredenburg, EdD. His lecture, titled “Advancing the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7 at 3:30 p.m. in the Regis Room, located on the second floor of the Richard E. Winter ’42 Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Joshua Fredenburg is an inspirational, high energy speaker whose transformational programs focus on leadership, diversity and inclusion, retention, healthy relationships, career success, millennials and creating synergy amongst multiple generations of people.
In addition to a successful speaking career, Fredenburg is the author of seven books on leadership, motivation, diversity and inclusion, retention and engagement, and healthy relationships. His expertise is frequently called upon by various television and radio shows. Fredenburg has also served as a TEDx Speaker and is the founder and president of the Circle of Change Leadership Experience. The Circle of Change Leadership Experience is a national leadership development program that has reached more than 2,000 culturally diverse students from 150-plus colleges and universities in the past 10 years, from across the country.
Fredenburg’s efforts in developing the next generation of leaders earned him the Community Leadership Award from the Urban League Young Professionals of Los Angeles.
He is a member of the national executive board of student leadership programs for the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and a board member for the Leadership Development Programming Office at California State University, Long Beach, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in communication studies.
Fredenburg also holds master’s degree in organizational leadership from Biola University and a doctorate degree in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
