Mid-Career Salaries for Canisius Grads Among Highest in NYS

September 1, 2017

Buffalo, NY – Mid-career salaries for Canisius University graduates who hold bachelor’s degrees are among the highest in New York State, according to PayScale’s latest College Salary Report.  The compensation-data firm based in Seattle, WA ranked Canisius No. 24 among 54 upstate New York colleges and universities, estimating the mid-career salaries of the college’s alumni to be $88,000.

“Our report provides a good data point for students and families as they select a school and major,” says PayScale Vice President Lydia Frank.  “Increasingly, students want to understand the career and income opportunities associated with their college education.  And while earning potential should not be the only consideration, it is an important one especially when considering the cost of each student’s education.”

PayScale based its rankings on a survey of 2.3 million graduates from more than 2,700 U.S. colleges and universities to create its College Salary Report. Respondents were asked to report their pay, academic major, highest degree earned and school name.  The rankings were confined to students who received bachelor’s degrees and did not go on to earn advanced degrees.

The quality of a Canisius University education is consistently recognized by respected publications and college ranking lists.  Most recently, Money magazine included Canisius on its 2017 list of “Best Colleges for Your Money” ranking the college among the top third of all high-value colleges nationally.

One of 28 Jesuit universities in the nation, Canisius is the premier private university in Western New York.
