Melva D. Visher, MA, RHIA serves as an Adjunct Professor at Canisius University. In this role she teaches Healthcare Program Planning and Evaluation, as well as serves as faculty adviser for graduate students completing their master's thesis/projects. In addition to the work at Canisius University, Ms. Visher served as Clinical Assistant Professor and Program Director in Health Information Management at Medaille College. Her professional experience includes appointments as Vice President of Community Health, Assistant Vice President of Ambulatory Services, and Director Pediatric Rehabilitation and School Health Services at Kaleida Health, where she retired after 38 years of service in 2012. Ms. Visher also is active in the Western NY community as evidenced by her service as a member of the Board of Trustees at the J. R. Oishei Foundation, the Health Foundation for Western & Central NY; and as an Advisory Board member at Univera Healthcare.
