Marie Balen

Professor Marie Balen currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction with a large district in the Buffalo area. Previously, Professor Balen worked in several roles within Virginia schools in both urban and suburban settings, including as a teacher, central office curriculum coordinator, as well as a district office director of a curriculum department. She is currently in her 26th year in the education field. Professor Balen is a Canisius University graduate with a doctorate (focused on the areas of leadership, supervision, and curriculum) from the University of Virginia.
